Alabama

Today I finally got dressed, got up off the couch, and left the house. I'm visiting my family in Alabama, where I usually take R & R quite seriously. But today some errands had to be run.

First of all, while driving to say hello to my mom's 6th graders, I saw a grown woman sucking her thumb while driving, and her small child was unbuckled climbing around in the back seat. Normal scene.

Second, I went to the dentist where the dental hygienist I have never met before told me she wanted me to marry her son. I've never met her son either. And I'm not sure how she knows so much about me...

Third, I had the start of a cavity, so I got my tooth drilled up and a filling put in. Fun.

Fourth, I attempted to go to the DMV to get my Alabama driving records, only to run into a zoo and come home empty handed. Stressful.

Fifth, I realized with dismay that there are no good places to shop in Florence. Actually, NO places to shop. The mall was depressing.

So I returned to the safety of my home and my couch and put my pajamas back on. It's been a great week!
