Slow week...

Another great weekend!

My mom was in town this week and because the weather was so nice, we spent as much time outside as possible. Saturday we took a trip to the Wissahickon (see photos bel0w). Sunday we walked all over the city - over 7 miles! Had brunch with JS, gelato in the Italian market, I found a power drill in a bush. At this very moment, I'm sitting in my back patio listening to my neighbors talk to their cat in British accents. They aren't British. Ooooh, the cat just made it up onto the chair...Good kitty...

ANTM = WINNER!!!

ANTM (known as Black Ice on the Yokie circuit) - Winner of Philadelphia Karaoke Contest!!!! From a shaky start in the semi finals with "Sad but True" by Metallica, through Britney Spears, Baby Got Back, Burn Baby Burn Disco Inferno, the Devil Went Down to Georgia, and Garth Brooks's Shameless, ANTM beat out every other karaoke singer to win the whole competition!!! I'm so proud of you ANTM!!!!

CrossFit Sectionals

Ok, so Cross Fit is the craze these days, seems like. I myself have participated a few times and found it to be a great workout. My friends AB and JS have begun to compete in the Cross Fit competitions. This past weekend they participated in the Cross Fit sectionals in King of Prussia. Some of us went out to support them, and boy what an experience!

There are men's and women's divisions, close to 100 athletes competing in 3 rounds throughout the day, a mix of running, rowing, lifting, pulling, strength and endurance. Both AB and JS placed really well and qualified for the regional competition later this year. And I lost my voice cheering for them. It was very tiring for me. Hahahaha!

Mahogany!

Well, life is about trying new things. Friday night I met up with my friends CT, AV, RS, and JN at Mahogany - a cigar bar in Center City. I was quite pleased with the experience - the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. It was like being transported back in time to an old man's smoking club. Haha! The clientele were not quite what I expected though - lots of young folks! Overall, I was happy with the experience. But I don't think I'll be taking up cigar smoking in a serious manner any time soon!

ANTM Karaoke!!

Tuesday, my friend ANTM competed in the semi-finals of the Philadelphia Karaoke competition for a chance to win $1000. Even though she ended up picking out of a hat the only song she didn't want to sing (Metallica - Sad But True), she still rocked it and made it to the finals. Our other friend CL also made the finals!!

So if you want to see some excellent karaoke, come to Triumph Brewery on 2nd and Chestnut Tuesday night at 8pm!!!!

Beautiful weekend!!

This weekend was BEAUTIFUL! To celebrate the sun, I took a walk with KM and MR along the Schuylkill Canal. Check out some pics below!
