February!

So my Fridays lately seem to be following a trend. The trend is that while fun, they always involve some sort of minor fiasco. Last week it was PGW, this Friday it was the chilly rain. I had planned to come home early enough to pick up my jeans from the dry cleaner and I did make it home in time. Yet when I got to the cleaners, there was that little clock in their window saying "Will return:" and then the minute and hour hands pointed at 4:30. I looked at my watch. 4:18.

I was not inclined to wait because I had to make it to happy hour at 5, obviously. And of course, when I started back home on my bike, the rain started coming. And coming. And coming. I left my house and walked to 19th and Arch and the rain just kept coming, to the point where I could feel my feet sloshing around in my shoes and my jeans were absoring water at such a rate they were wet up past my knee. Awesome.

ANTM get to HH at Mission Grill which we decided was too high class. We were joined by some others, and then amazingly I looked over and there was Vince. Vince who MR and I met at the London Grill last year when PETA was protesting foie gras. Good times. This guy is pretty cool, an international financial trader or something mysterious like that, so he joined our group and we had a good chat. Then we decided to move on. By then the rain had stopped but I was still soaked, of course. The night ended with my best friend IR kindly telling me she dropped a penny at the meter when she got there so I picked it up and tallied a grand total of $0.01 on Friday. Thank you IR!

Today I picked up my jeans. They were open this time. And I've decided the best think about the dry cleaners is that they give you hangers. I took two pair of jeans in without hangers and then voila! Out they come WITH hangers!!! It's nice because I was running kind of low.

not to pass judgment or anything, but you dry clean your jeans??
i understand there are certain fabrics requiring special care...i didn't think of denim as being one of 'em.
