Lehigh Valley National Champions!

Every year I play in one 7s tournament for two reasons: (1) I think that maybe I'll end up liking it THIS year; and (2) to remind myself that I actually do hate playing 7s.

I, and Keystone, tend to just take this tournament lightly - we're out for a good time. But some teams that attend (ahem...NOVA) come to this thing like it is the national championship. Apparently this tournament counts for points for the MARFU 7s club championship, but whatever.

Anyway, to make the tournament fun for us, we decided to create an inter-team competition. The person with the most individual points, wins. You score 1 point for a try, 1 point for making a conversion, and 2 points for a drop goal during general play. The individual points lead changed hands several times throughout the day, and we managed to win all our games holding the other teams scoreless.

Finally we were in the final against NOVA 1 (NOVA brought 3 teams...). JW decided to make our little inter-team competition interesting - whoever scored a drop goal would win it all. And of course, it would be nice to send NOVA home winless. So we went out and played well. NOVA was up 5-0 at halftime, but in the second half we came out and RS scored with a conversion from IR. We were up 7-0. With time winding down, KFD tried a drop goal. It puttered across the ground. Hilarious. Another chance. KFD lines it up, kicks, and...SCORES!!!!!

WE WIN - 10-5!!!!!!!! KFD won the points game!!!!! We are champions.
