Yesterday I was walking to my car in my neighborhood and this taxi cab swerves over towards me and rolls down his window. Now, I have some familiarity with these events, and they usually result in some sort of comment thrown out the window like "Mmmmhmmmm white chocolate!" or something else of the sort. Haha.
So I was skeptical when this guy pulled over and said "Excuse me." I was going to ignore him but he was persistent. "Can you tell me how to get to the city exit?"
Um, the city exit? Technically you are in the city. I live in the city. You would have already had to have gotten off at a city exit to get to my house. But I gathered he was looking for center city (whose skyscrapers are actually visible from where I live as well). So I gave him the simple directions - go to that street, turn right, keep going till you hit the city.
But then it dawned on me - that was a TAXI CAB. A car people get in to in order to go places around the city, etc. How ironic! I guess it would be more ironic if I were in the cab, but whatever.
So just remember, be careful when you get in cabs because the cabbies may have no idea where they are!
