Poor Bear

My friend FD brought this to my attention - Ice Skating Bear Kills Circus Trainer in Russia. Initially I laughed. Because that just sounds ridiculous! But then I realized the tragedy. Not only did somebody die and another is in critical care, but the bear was shot and killed immediately. I know these stories are sad for all invovled, but somehow, it just bothers me that the bear would be shot for just behaving like it was supposed to. Why would you put ice skates on a bear? You would have to know, or at least expect, some sort of retaliation from the bear. Ice skates are uncomfortable...
