Hiking in the Dandenongs

About an hour's train ride from the city is an area called the Dandenongs. There are quite a few hiking trails up through the mountains (hills) there, so I figured I'd just pop out there for a day hike. Easy.

Well the morning was misty and wet, so that put a bit of a damper on my plans. But determined not to be outdone by the weather, I went out there anyway. It actually wasn't that bad, but because I had my camera and phone on me, and I didn't want to get too soaked, I hiked wearing a poncho and carrying an umbrella! Haha!

I went up the 1000 steps trail, but when I got to the top, it was pouring rain, so I decided I'd just head back down. Of course, as I got to the bottom, the sky was clearing a bit, and by the time the train dropped me back in the city, the sun was out full force!!! I guess sometimes the early bird doesn't get the worm...

You are such an inspiration to me because you have actually got to go out and experience the world and you are still young. Unlike where I live, people just want to stay at their hometown and never leave and miss out, but there is so much out in the world that is waiting to be seen. I hope that I will able to be like you and go where ever when I have the time. Thanks for being AWESOME!!!!! Keep up the good work!!! :)

I'm so glad you are enjoying reading about my travels!!! I have quite an addiction to travel and exploring, but you also don't always have to leave home to be an explorer or live a cool life. Blessings are everywhere, no matter where you are!!

You can go wherever when you have the time if you really want to make it happen. Work hard now for lots of play time later! ;) Just be sure to enjoy the whole journey while you're at it, even the working part!!!
