The best part of my foray into Bangkok was my ride on public bus #53. Refusing to be ripped off by a taxi or tuk tuk driver, I paid <$0.25 USD for a ride on a bus that I hoped would take me to the Grand Palace. Boy was I in for a treat!!

With a window seat, I had a great view of Chinatown, and 45 minutes later I exited about 10 blocks from where I started, but right next to the Palace!
I spent the next few hours walking around looking at Wats and markets and the canals which were cute but smelly. There's also a Democracy Monument, which I thought was weird since Thailand has a king...(ok, constitutional monarchy, but whatevs.)

I'm sitting here with Katy Rank and Muckle. Muckle is headed to China soon! I was wondering if Beijing was your first stop or last. But I see you have already gone, so a meet-up with Tricia is unlikely.
Well, we miss you and wish you safe travels! Talk soon.
