Sotomayor

These excerpts are from the ABA Journal - Top 10 Quotes from the Sotomayor Hearings. I found this quote to be the most interesting:

"Asked about the approximately $200,000 that associate justices earn, Sotomayor said she can 'suffer through' a career with that compensation. 'I've been living on this pay for years.'"

Hmm, yes, I would agree that $200,000 a year would require some suffering.

I also liked this one:

"The progression of my life has been uniquely American.”

What does that even mean anymore?

Republicans seem to think that Sotomayor is eager to stamp Obama's liberal ideals on every Supreme Court decision, but from what I've read, she sticks to her guns and makes judgments based on law. What more can you ask from a judge?

Dear penguin files:

I hope you are fine. Today, I'm writing to ask for your advice. I'm organizing a bachelorette party. My twin sister (i don't remember her name today) is not helping and i'm afraid she will ruin it as always. Because we don't have many friends, i thought that maybe you could join us and bring some penguins too. I have an old cooking book that we can use. Would you help me? I don't want things to get too crazy. Love,
