Okay, I don't love scotch, yet. But I think I could acquire a taste for it. Thanks to my friend JN. He invited me to a free scotch tasting last night hosted by Macallan. So JN and I, and our friends KF and TK, headed to the Kimmel Center for the free scotch!
We tasted Macallan 10, 12, 15, 17, and 18. And got quite an education while we were at it!! Scotch whisky (Scottish spelling) is made in oak barrels - American and Spanish oak. There are 6 regions in Scotland with distinct scotch tastes/styles. The Macallan distillery has the shortest distillers, which ensures the richer, fuller-bodied whiskies.
The Macallan 17 was my favorite. But I still have a long way to go in my scotch journey!
At the beginning.
