Winter Adventure!

Yesterday was pretty much the best day ever. I woke up to several inches of snow already, then decided to take some action! I moved my car to a safer parking spot, packed a bag, and headed off to catch Septa Bus #32 to East Falls for a movie day with LR and AB. I've never taken the 32 before, so wasn't aware of the alternate stops in inclement weather. Thirty minutes later, I figured it out and hopped on the Septa Snow Box!

Few people were out, but those that were seemed all in good spirits - the snow was beautiful!! I love it when it snows in the city because all the dirt and grime is covered, everything is quiet, and nobody is out.

We watched some movies, moved LR's car, and then nearly had to push AB's roommate's car out of a predicament, but fortunately she found a parking spot. Then it was time to venture home before another outing into the snow - back on the 32. On the way home there were at least two buses stuck and really no other cars on the street...and just me on the bus! A couple hours later when I started out on my walk to my friend EF's party, another two buses were stuck and several taxis were just spinning their wheels. Quite funny!

But my night didn't end there - I met up with KS, MM, and LR for some fun at the Irish Pub! It was perfect...nobody was there! Although they were trying to charge $2 cover at the door. Ridiculous. I just told the guy I wasn't paying it because look at me - I was dressed in track pants, huge boots, a sweatshirt, a couple jackets, and fingerless gloves. hahahaha.

Anyway, the night ended with me walking home. Nearly all the buses stopped service at 11pm. I couldn't have been more pleased with Septa. Their service yesterday has changed my perception of the organization. Or maybe I've just found another organization to complain about - the city of Philadelphia! I saw only one, ONE, plow truck all day yesterday. And it was plowing Naudain St., a tiny side street in between Lombard and Pine. I must say, I was disappointed in the complete LACK of response to the snow storm by the road crew. No salt trucks, no plows, no nothing!

Oh well girl!

You have to move to a senior citizens neighborhood, we are the first to get the roads.
