I got bitten by a dog - for real this time!

So this time it's for real. I'm not even sure how to write this post. Except to start off by saying that I have the greatest friends in the world.

First, I decided to go on an adventure Friday to celebrate the end of my second year of law school and the fact that the sun came out. I walked down Kelly Drive and explored the park areas, taking pictures along the way. I stopped by Mount Laurel Cemetary, climbed to the top, and ate lunch overlooking the city, East Falls, and the Schuylkill, watching the Dad Vail Rowing competition go on. I took my time on the way back, enjoying the day.

Then, along boathouse row, I was walking back towards my house, a mere 5 blocks away at this point, when I walk past a dog tied to a bike rack on the grass. All of a sudden this dog lunges at me and before I had a chance to back away, the dog has taken a bit out of my shorts. I thought at first it had just ripped my shorts, then I looked underneath and saw it had definitely chomped a bit of my flesh out. Awesome.

Call the cops. File a report. Hop in the ambulance. See triage at Hahnemann. Wait in the waiting room FOREVER. Become part of a hostage situation when a guy got too tired of waiting to be admitted and came back to the waiting room holding a "gun" in a hankerchief threatening to kill everybody. Cops come. Taze him. He gets my ER room. I wait. I get in to a room. I wait. I see the doctor, who tries to convince me I don't need a tetanus shot. I wait. Meet the nurse who is supposed to clean my wound (all I really wanted from the beginning). Tries to chat about the incident. I wait. He goes to get antibiotic ointment. I wait.

4.5 hours later, the nurse cleans my wound. Hope I don't get rabies.

Anyway, my friends are great. IR made sure I got all the info I needed to get (police report, etc.) and even offered to come all the way in to the city to help me. ANTM and AB picked me up from the ER, and then JS brought me all sorts of comfort food afterwards (I hadn't eaten since lunch, and I only had $0.79 on me, so I couldn't even get something out of the vending machine!)!!

Here are some pics I took before my day/weekend was ruined:
