Chicago - fun and lucrative!

This weekend I was in Chicago for an informal PSU reunion, visiting JL, and the Churchill Cup finals. I must say, it was an incredibly fun weekend and after being unsure whether I would like Chicago or not, I have come home in love with that city!

JL arranged for us to participate in a "drunk bus" to Toyota Stadium for the 3 games on Saturday - Ireland v Argentina, England v Scotland, and USA v Canada. Basically we all met up at the Black Rock bar (JL's rugby team Chicago North Shore and the Chicago Griffins men's team) and had a buffet breakfast of eggs, bacon, potatoes, and pancakes. I think I ate about 20 pieces of bacon. Then we all hopped on a bus to the stadium and enjoyed the games. The day started out rainy and gloomy but quickly cleared up and it was beautiful.

Saturday night saw us out in Wrigleyville again, attempting to meet up with the Irish boys. While we were unsuccessful in that endeavor, we managed to have a great evening out terrorizing the streets and laughing at the guy with toilet paper on his shoe.

Sunday, those of us that didn't have flights at the crack of dawn spent some time downtown eating deep dish pizza, playing at the "bean" or "cloud" or whatever you want to call it, and watching the kids play under the spitting people. Thanks JL and MD for letting us all invade your apartment!!!

That was the fun part. The lucrative part was me finding $0.63 and two SD memory cards on the ground at separate times and places. One card is 1GB and the other is 2GB! Score!!
