My Backyard Jungle

So I've decided this year, since I have quite a nice back patio, to take advantage of the space and grow some vegetables. I had plans of grandeur, which have actually come to fruition. I'm growing yellow squash and zucchini (mmm zucchini bread), tomatoes, peas and beans, and lettuce and spinach. Plus some pretty flowers to add some color! Oh yes, I also planted an avocado seed, but I'm not sure what will happen with that...(I planted it in the skinny slot next to the one with the squash in it.)

With the help of my friend SP, I've managed to fashion trellises for my peas and beans. SP also provided tomato cages so my tomato plants don't droop. haha. And I have the company of a furry friend when I work outside...I get the occasional inquisitive stares between the fence slats from the blue-eyed white cat that lives next door.

All in all, we'll see how green my thumb is and I'll post updates on my harvest! Eventually.
