Garden FAIL

Well, maybe some of you remember how excited I was to have some plants growing in my backyard. Some might even think my expectations were high. But I didn't expect this garden to feed me for the year. I just expected to have some fresh produce to supplement my diet. First the peas produced nothing. That was fine, it was a hot summer and I planted them later than I should have. Fair enough.

They were followed by the lettuce, which just shriveled and disappeared. I thought that was quite rude, considering the care I took in watering them. The beans produced a few strings, that never really ripened, before they too croaked.

But I still had the squash, zucchini, spinach and tomatoes. So I thought. But in late August, the squash and zucchini bit it too. And that's when I started to hate my "garden." This was probably the source of the rest of the vegetables' downfalls. I haven't watered any plants since early September. There are no traces of squash or zucchini. The tomatoes did surprisingly well for the conditions. And my saving grace, my last hope - one sprout of spinach - seems to be growing. Sort of. Just in time for the first frost, inevitably coming soon.

Garden FAIL.

PS. I would put some pictures up of my miserable back patio, but I'm too lazy. I'd also put up a hyperlink to the FAIL blog, but I'm too lazy for that as well. Sorry.

I hear you on the garden fail. I allowed our three tomato plants to grow to the size of a small car, only to reap ONE tomato from them before the temp dropped.

At least it was a big one.

I thought your "garden" was more of a compost heap...
