Liver Detox Day 1 - Setting myself up for success

So I’ve decided to get rid of all the toxins in my body and start from a clean slate. Some of you may have heard of these dangerous detoxes where you drink only cayenne pepper lemon juice for 10 days. Well, fear not faithful readers. My friend JS gave me a healthy detox that is supposed to be kind to your liver and colon while at the same time flush all the bad stuff out. It’s called the Fast Track Liver Detox – read about it here.

So I’ve decided to chronicle every day of this 10 day event, right here on The Penguin Files for all to read. My friend IR is concerned – she thinks I’m so full of toxins that by releasing them like this I will suffer. She’s probably right, but it is a risk I’m willing to take.

Anyway, on to Day 1 – setting myself up for success.

Last night I bought pretty much everything I needed for the next 7 days with the idea that if I cooked it up and put it in the fridge, all I’d have to do is pull it out and eat it. I want to make it easy to eat the required foods. I also figured that if I spent money on it, I wouldn’t let it sit there and rot, so I’d have to eat it.

I spent the morning in the kitchen cooking up stuff for the next 4 days, which I’ve planned out. I stuck with the diet today, and didn’t really struggle too much, except between lunch and dinner when I really craved cookies and got so hungry I had to pretend I was tired and try to take a nap. You see, the last 4 days I’ve pigged out, knowing I was starting this detox today. Last night I even bought a coffee and a milkshake at the same time, to get it all in before these next 10 dark days.

No coffee….uuuuuhhhhhhh. No sugar….uuuuuhhhhhhh. No cookies. :(

In other news, how ridiculous is it that Plaxico Burress accidentally shot himself? What was he doing carrying a gun anyway???

Kim, I can't wait to read your blog for the next 10 days. I'll think of you when I'm eating my sugary treats :)
