The night we drank water for free...

Last night ANTM and I continued our traditional Friday Winter Happy Hour, this time at McGillins with MW and J, MK, KP, JM, JB and two of his friends. We began the evening early at 5 and then ended up staying until karaoke started after 10pm!

I'd like to take this opportunity to express my disappointment with the American "pub." I'd have to say that the last couple times I've been out, it has been highly unpleasant on my ears. Now my friend IR would say that this is because I have hypersensitive ears (bat ears maybe??). But when the music is playing so loudly that I cannot even enjoy the conversation with my friends, or even make out what the server is asking me, my ears start to hurt and I get generally annoyed and upset. This loud music seems to be an ever-occurring event at pubs in the United States. If I wanted to go to a concert, I would have gone to a CONCERT. NOT A PUB. Tone it down pubs.

Okay, with that out of the way, I'll get on to how we got to drink water for free last night. We had the fortune of being offered small plastic cups of MGD 64 beer. While I didn't partake in the sampling, ANTM, MK, and JM all had a dixie cup full of....water? I'm Ron Burgundy? Apparently this beer is so light it tastes like water! Wow! You can pay for a beer that tastes like water!!! And we got a taste of water for free! We were so flattered.

ION, ANTM and JB were quite the entertainers at karaoke!

Yeah, that Beer was like 99.9% H20. And I do agree about the loud music ... definitely unnecessary.

Thanks for the karaoke shot-out!!! :)

perhaps you are mildly autistic, such as myself. socially awkward...check, resistant to change...check, hypersensitive senses...check, and the list goes on.
