Tonight on Private Practice, there was a scenario where a mother came in to the practice. Her pregnant daughter and son-in-law had died in an accident involving a drunk driver. They had left no will. The daughter's eggs (she had fertility treatments and had multiple eggs saved) were left to the mother.
So here's the catch. The mother comes in and wants the daughter's eggs implanted in her. So she could have her daughter's child. SO SHE COULD GIVE BIRTH TO HER OWN GRANDCHILD!!!! Because somehow that was her daughter's dream - to have a child.
I'm sorry, but that's messed up. Unfortunately, those songs like "I'm my own grandpa" are not so far from the truth in some places.
