So. St. Patrick. Who was he really? Check out Wikipedia for a little background. It appears he lived from 340-460 AD (yes, 120 years...amazing how much longer life expectancy was back then!). I confess I didn't read it all, but the parts I read didn't really seem to explain why we celebrate St. Patrick's Day as a holiday, of sorts. I personally think people just wanted something in March (an excuse to party during Lent?) between St. Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.
Interestingly, legend has it that St. Patrick banished snakes from the Emerald Isle and that's why you can't find any there. He must have done that in New Zealand as well. Boy, St. Patrick got around.
Anyway, in more exciting news, I just saw on TV that a mob scene prevented several young "models" from auditioning for America's Next Top Model. They are interviewing three would-be models and their closing words - Girl 1: "It's okay Tyra. And pick me...hahehahe." Girl 2: "I would say pick ME." Girl 3: "PICK ME." Is it bad that I'm laughing?
In any event, all my readers know who the real ANTM is.
