Old School

So yesterday was the first day of the Keystone Collegiate Cup. Spring surprised me...it ended up being quite a nice day. I refereed 3 games. Reffing is boring, you never get to touch the ball but seem to have to do the same amount of running as if you were playing. Fortunately nobody yelled at me!

After the matches some of us headed to SmokeEaters pub just around the corner for some food and drinks. It ended up being quite a nice time and once we got the jukebox rolling, the night turned into a night of reminiscing about prom...for some of us, that was YEARS ago. IR and RH give an amazing rendition of the traditional dance and poses for the time.

Sunday was a bit drearier. Stupid spring, back again. I think the highlight of the day was VV showing up in a banana tyvek suit. Unfortunately I have no pictures of that. So if anybody does have pictures, please send them to me and I'll post it. I must say, it was unbelievable. Just like those footy pajamas we all had when we were kids. Except a huge windproof, waterproof, warm banana suit. Everybody was jealous.

On an interesting nature note - there was a killdeer nest in the try zone of Field 3. Since they are endangered or threatened in some way, we couldn't move the nest. There were three little speckled eggs in there Saturday and Sunday there was a 4th! The momma was so pretty and protective. It was quite cool.

killdeers aren't endangered or threatened...there are other types of plovers that are...did it feign a broken wing?

the "killdeer" puffed itself up really big. we put gatorade cones around it so nobody would step on it. it was really pretty. i hope her eggs are okay.

I think me and IR look very lovely doing our prom dance. Unfortunately, I was grindin with my Prom date...so, that dance is not accurate for me ;)

Also, there's a pic of Val in her banana suit on PSU's rugby page under the pics for the Keystone Cup...check it out....

Smooches!
