Things I Hate #27 - Dead Things People Wear

I saw this terrible terrible vest yesterday. I've put a picture below. It was hideous. On three levels. First, it is fur. Second, it was poorly made. It looked like somebody just killed about 20 rabbits and pasted them haphazardly on some cloth and called it a vest. Third, it is definitely not fashion first. Look at it!

On a moral/ethical level, I realize that people long ago killed animals to wear their skin and fur for warmth. But let's be real here. We have cotton now. We have fleece and goretex and under amour. We have warm and waterproof clothing that a lot of times costs less than real fur items of clothing. Not to mention doesn't involve killing animals (directly at least). I just don't see the need to kill things and wear them anymore. Especially when they are ugly things.

I'm still thinking that the Wildlife Service should have been contacted. It's possible this poor man(?) was being attacked.

Or at the very least a phone call to the Philadelphia Zoo.....

remember in college when carol thought her rabbit boots didn't kill the rabbit? that they just SHAVED it to get its hide attached to her feet? i wonder if she kept the boots after we filled her in...

So they shave the rabbit and glue it on to the skin-like surface??
