I HATE New Jersey. HATE it with a passion. In fact, I would put it at #1 except I'm afraid that someday something will usurp it, so I'm going to leave some room.
Here are some reasons I hate it:
- Roundabouts
- Jug handles
- Inability to make left turns
- Can't pump your own gas
- The turnpike
- It's ugly
- It's like the twilight zone or some sort of black hole.
The minute I enter New Jersey I get uncomfortable and anxious. I lose all sense of direction. I get angry and irritable. I HATE NEW JERSEY.
Just this past Friday I got lost with my friends BB, GSB, and CM. It was awful. We took one wrong turn and that was it. Lost. So we stopped at a Wawa to get directions (thank God for Wawa). We went back the way we came and eventually found the place, through several lights, a roundabout, a weird main street, and then just when we thought we had it right, we must have missed the sign or taken the wrong exit and were going east, away from the city. OF COURSE. Because Jersey is the armpit of America. In all, we spent 2 hours, 2 HOURS, trying to find this place and then get back home, back to glorious PA.
And as if that weren't enough, I had to spend a day in NJ today. Today was not so bad, but the really tightly circled onramps are slightly dangerous when taken a little too quickly in vehicles with higher points of gravity. I must say, we were all relieved when we saw the Welcome to Pennsylvania sign.

that is rich from someone that hails from alabama!!
i hate alabama as well. it just doesn't happen to be a neighboring state that i have to spend as much time in, and they don't have roundabouts, jughandles, a turnpike, and you can pump your own gas.
anyway, has the Boss ever been to alabama?
dude, i hate new jersey, too. the whole time i lived there, i never saw a single road sign almost. i have a theory that, much as the british removed their road signs to fool the invading nazis, new jersey has removed all road signs to deliberately mislead people.
I think your NJ experience is highly skewed by the company you had at the time...you blame the state for the profound lostness you experienced with the aliens and the amish?
I think Harold is on drugs
harold, i've had plenty of bad experiences in NJ when i've been alone. and since i tend to really enjoy my own company in general, those bad experiences had to be because of NJ. and katy is right...the signs are terrible...what few signs there are!
