The things I do for my family...

Earlier in the week my brother had emailed me with a list of lucky numbers. I was to buy a Powerball ticket for him with those enchanted digits. I am always the go to person for the lotto, since the closest place for my family to buy tickets is TN.

So I went through my Friday completely forgetting about the winning lotto numbers. Saturday morning roled around and I thought, I'll get them on the way to the game. But that didn't happen. After the game I thought, I'll get them on the way home. But that also didn't happen.

Then Hanna happened. And as I was lying on the floor watching a movie, my brother called. Did you get the ticket? Oh, um, no. It's a hurricane out there! Oh. I sensed the disappointment in my brother's voice.

So in the middle of a tornado warning (those of you who know me know what that means), I donned my rain jacket, pulled out my huge golfer umbrella, and fought against Hanna to get to the Sunoco and buy that ticket. Because of course, if I didn't do it, those numbers would win and we'd be out millions and millions of dollars. I could never forgive myself.

Long story long, the lucky numbers weren't so lucky. And we didn't win. Oh well.

The best thing is, those numbers will probably win today. (or the next time the drawing is...)
Actually - that would be MR's luck... so never mind.
