I just learned about the term "green collar jobs." These are jobs that are essentially blue collar jobs but have been "upgraded" because these skilled laborers provide some sort of benefit for the ecosystem. Example - solar panel roof installer.
This green collar job excerpt is from NPR. Author Van Jones talks about how to save the world by creating green jobs and making it costly to produce carbon or dump garbage or be "dirty." Directly from the source: "These people don't have PhD's but Ph"DO"'s."
Ph"DO"'s. Interesting.
Also directly from the source: "We have a Saudia Arabia of wind energy in our great plains..." Saudia. Saudi-AH. Edumucated.
There was an interesting connection - Van Jones mentions Majora Carter, who was featured in JS's magazine for October! Cool.

Van Jones was our Dec. 2007 cover model -- here was our interview w/him, in case you want to mention it. No mention of Saudia Arabia, however: www.experiencelifemag.com/issues/
