BUT, I couldn't resist heading down to City Hall this afternoon to see some of the action, if not just people watch. I wasn't disappointed. The fountain in Love Park was dyed a (disgusting) green.
There were young people, old people, families with infants and children, a man with an eye patch, a man with a shaved head except for a tuft of hair in the shape of the Phillies "P" (but not dyed red, which I think would have been a nice touch), and many many more.
Obviously, I got no where near the front of the crowds to see the actual parade, but I was able to catch glimpses of what I am assuming were the Phillies riding the top of the double decker buses down Market St. The roar of the crowd was deafening, even from a block+ away. And then once the buses passed, all you could see was a red wall flooding JFK heading towards City Hall. Pretty amazing. Although I wouldn't want to be any sort of hospital worker today...

Why do you suppose the fountain was green? Do you think its the blood of the Philly Phanatic?
I think it was his blood. He must have gotten torn to shreds in the excitement after the win. R.I.P. Philly Phanatic.
