Friday evening ANTM, ON, and I went to First Friday. This is when, on the first Friday of every month (imagine that!), the art galleries in Old City open up for viewing. There's all sorts of art - paintings, photos, jewelry, glasswork, sculptures, pottery, weavings, etc. etc. etc. It is pretty awesome.
But the thing I found most interesting was the groups of people who came out of the woodwork on this freezing first Friday. It seemed to be mostly groups of teenagers, yuppie couples, and older couples. And everybody seemed to be a hurry - I can't even remember the number of times I opened the door to leave a gallery and was nearly run over by the people rushing into the gallery, or when I opened a door to come in a gallery and was shoved out of the way by an old lady trying to get in as well.
The art was a amazing!! But although it was cold, I think some people could have still used a chill pill. And ANTM and I bought three great rings for a discount from a street vendor!!
