Yes, like the movie!! I'm staying with my friend KA here in Antwerp, Belgium. So KA, one of her friends from here, and I all took a road trip to Bruge today. Bruges/Brugge is quite a spectacular place, even just in terms of architecture. The buildings and cathedrals are all ornately decorated, inside and out. Little winding cobblestone streets and hidden parks. A Madonna statue by Michelangelo is housed in a church here, and the Blood of Christ is also in another church here (they didn't have it on display when we went in, but I saw a picture of it - looks like a scabby thing, kind of weird).
The city has little canals running through it, a convent that used to be
houses for pious women (the Beguines), and the best part - CHOCOLATE SHOPS ON EVERY STREET!!! Seriously, one street had chocolate shop after chocolate shop, with the occasional tapestry store. Bruge also has a lace factory, tons of outside cafes, and it's own beer -
