Snowdon!!!

This morning Ceri and her huge German Shephard Griff and I headed up to the highest peak in Wales and England - Snowdon. It's about 3000 ft high and today was supposed to be a good day to go up - clouds burning off about midday. The car park was full, so we had to park waaaaaay down the hill, but luckily caught the bus up to the start point and started hiking.

Sheep dotted the hill side and Griff managed to find every dip of water along the way. We made it up most of the mountain with beautiful views and no clouds until just before the summit when we entered a cloud that never left. Unfortunately we didn't get to see any views (except cloud) from the summit; however, on a nice day you can see Ireland!!! We headed back down the Miner's Trail (used to mine copper there), where we ran into a few sprinkles, then we made it just in time to catch the bus back down to the car.

Penmachno has one pub - the Eagle. It's quite nice, spacious yet cozy and full of great people with great conversation. Went there tonight and last night for a few drinks. Griff is allowed in and sometimes gets a treat of Mr. Porky's - pork rinds!!

I have to say, I'm impressed with Wales and Snowdonia. I had no idea what to expect, but it's soooooo beautiful here and the people are awesome. Off to Dublin tomorrow on the ferry!
