So I had a bit of a run in with the vending machine the other day. All I wanted was some of these cookies, the little white ones with white icing. They don't have them very often but I love them. So I put my $1.35 in and was all ready to have my snack for lunch. But OF COURSE, the top of the bag gets caught between the rack above it and the bag behind it.
I threw a bit of a tantrum until TT came in and told me how to fix it - basically you pull the machine a little ways out from the wall and then JAM IT back into the wall. It should shake things enough to knock my bag of cookies out. So I got these three guys in my class to do the pull and slam. First time, no luck. So they tried again. Second time, BING...O?
No bag of cookies, but a Hershey's almond bar and a roll of Lifesaver mints dropped down. That was all the further the boys were willing to take it. At this point, the top two racks of the machine, with all the good chips, are up against the glass wall. Haha. Oh well.
I decided to just suck it up and buy another bag. Another $1.35. Except this time I needed to get change for a $5 and then borrow $0.20. At this point there is a rather large crowd in the lounge watching the events and listening to me rant about how all I wanted was 1 bag of cookies. So in I put my $1.35. I select F07 and the machine tells me "make another selection" and spits my money back out. I was angry, but I decided to try one more time. And this time, what, the 4th, 5th, 6th try was a charm?
The result - I get 4 items from Mr. Vending Machine and some entertainment for only $2.70, less than the price for 2 Septa tokens. I'm a winner!
