Squash

Not only is squash one of my favorite vegetables, but it is also a really fun game I discovered the other day. Rather than studying, my friend CT asked if I wanted to go play some squash with him. Yes. Anything to get out of our now undergrad-ridden library where you can't find a seat because some 18 year old with floppy hair and his friends are "studying" for their chemistry final by talking loudly on the phone: "We are in the L-A-W library. The LAW LIBRARY. It's really quiet here!" Yes it was, until you got here you moron.

Anyway, squash is really fun! I'm not that great, but it is a nice workout and something different from the same old lift and run thing. And apparently you burn 600 calories per half hour (according to KP). So squash will be my next sport after rugby and rock climbing.

Other random things that happened to me yesterday are worth noting:

1. I saw this girl I had freshman and sophomore chemistry with at Penn State. She walked into this breakfast diner in South Philly. It is odd because I saw her once in Rittenhouse Square about 3 years ago. I didn't talk to her this time, of course.

2. I saw a HUGE rat crawl into the sewer in Fairmount. This is the second huge rat I've seen scamper away in that area in the past few weeks. I wonder why they are venturing out of the sewers...

3. I was walking back to my house the other morning when this man pulls up in his car, looking like he's going to ask for directions. But no. "Can I have your phone number? What's your name? You have nice legs." Needless to say, I used my nice legs to hightail it away!

4. I found a brooch and a "silver" pendent (courtesy of JS, who also found a gold medallion in a deep drainage grate in center city. I'll have to go back for that one later).

5. I got Rita's Water Ice for FREE on the first day of spring. Next free give away of interest - Ben and Jerry's Free Cone Day April 22. I'm not sure I can wait a month.
