Sprint workout

So yesterday I met up with JS and KP to do a little bit of a sprint workout. Getting back into the routine of sprint workouts, running, and regular lifting schedules is a bit daunting if you've been out of it for a while. We decided to just do a ladder of 25m, 50m, 75m, and 100m and back down again.

Shortly after we started, this young high school guy, Kalif, comes over and asks to run with us. Sure, why not! He runs track for his highschool and plays basketball in his spare time. So we start out and he's running just ahead of us, then BAM! he turns it on and leaves us all in the dust! This kid was FAST! I just laughed when he asked, "No offense, but is that your fastest?"

He finished the rest of our workout with us and then we headed off to gorge ourselves with food. But it was kind of nice to just go to a field in south Philly and have this guy do a few sprints with us. Not to mention it was nice having somebody to "chase." Although I'm not sure we would or will ever be able to catch him!

What?! I didn't hear him say that. (Maybe b/c I was lagging behind on the walk back.) But by the end we were finishing just behind him! Do you think he was jogging?
