Ridiculousness

Does anybody else hate PECO, PGW, and Comcast? I sure do. Nothing dealing with these utility companies is easy. All I want to do is be a good person and sign up for these services in my new apartment. I don't think that's unreasonable. Yet when you call one of them (PGW), their customer service menu sends you through hoops just to run you in loops. Finally I got so annoyed I just pressed "0" repeatedly until after about the 10th time a real voice popped up. Once that happened I just got even more confused. I'll spare you the details for that one but the outcome is still up in the air.

PECO was actually the easiest signing up online. But only after they put you through a series of weird and unconnected questions. And I still have to trust that somebody will come out during the time I specified that I was available for a service check. I'm not holding my breath.

Comcast is the worst. I tried to sign up online, but they couldn't find my address. So I figured I'd try talking to a real person. But he couldn't find my address, then somehow figured it out. Then he said the option I wanted was only available online. So I said, yes, I tried online and the computer couldn't find my address...what happens if that happens again? He replied that there is an instant chat with a customer service person to help you. Cool. I'll try again. So I add the service I want to the cart, proceed to check out, only to find that there is a $99 one time installation fee. $99!!! RIDICULOUS. But I need to lease a modem so it isn't like I can do it myself.

ANYWAY, I go through the whole process and check out and then sign up for an installation time and await my chat with the customer service person. But "Sarah" (who I think didn't speak/type English as her first language), couldn't find my address either! So now apparently I have to wait for her to send something to the local office and then they'll call me. Like that's going to happen. Again, not holding my breath.

To make matters worse, my dispute with this seller on Ebay turned sour when they tried to extort me into leaving positive feedback so I could get my refund processed. Um, NO. I see a conflict on the horizon, but this one I'm excited about...
