Scraper bike

So I've slowly been making improvements on my bike. By improvements I mean adding things that will help me cart around items like books, groceries or the occasional small child. In the process, my bike has become somewhat ghetto. Not quite as ghetto as Ruth, bless her gears, but I've used a significant amount of duct tape to make sure my bike doesn't spontaneously fall into screws and spokes.

One of my friends, in seeing my Facebook status message, kindly forwarded me an article and a video detailing a "Scraper bike." While I won't go so far as to say my bike qualifies as a Scraper bike, I must say I am pretty proud pedaling my piece past pedestrians in the public passageways of Philadelphia. And I can only hope to someday outfit my bike with a couple of subwoofers and some surround sound like the riders in Queens.

oooh! i didn't know you had a blog. did you know i had a blog? i like your liberal use of the p sound in that entry. call me when you mount speakers on your bike and we'll have a dance party by the museum or something.

also, haven't you been collecting street money for years? i remember in college you inspiring me to bend for pennies. my sister is a queen money finder. she rivals IR for finding twenties floating in the ocean.

I am inordinately excited that you found a way to rid a crate to your bike. You won't burn holes in grocery bags anymore, and if that's not reason to celebrate, what is?

Also, I found a bunch of change on the ground in Edinburgh for you this weekend. You'll have to convert it to US dollars (or, let's be real, cents), but somehow I didn't figure you'd mind.
